Physical therapy can help prevent and address pain, weakness, and imbalances. I believe that there is not just one approach that works for each condition. I take the time to learn about each client's needs and apply the unique solution that will help you achieve your Balanced Body.
Services offered include, but are not limited, to the following:
Soft Tissue Massage/Manual Therapy
Hands-on treatment that includes elements of myofascial release, active release, massage, stretching, and other manipulation of the muscles, tendons, and joints. It is often used in combination with an exercise regimen and other treatment modalities.
Postural Correction
A postural assessment will determine the imbalances in a client's posture that could cause or are causing pain or discomfort as well as how well the muscles, joints and spine are working together. It is often helpful for patients experiencing conditions such as neck and upper back pain, numbness or tingling in the hands, plantar fasciitis, shin splints, or Achilles tendonitis. You will be shown how to notice signs of poor posture as well as how to correct them yourself.
Home Work Space Assessment and Set Up
Due to Covid 19, many people have been forced to work from home. Therefore it is quite common for people to have home work spaces that are not set up in an ergonomic fashion. We can show you how to set up the optimal home office, even without investment in permanent or expensive peripherals, as well as exercises to combat the strain on the body of working long hours at home.
Individualized Exercise Instruction
Therapeutic exercise is often a primary component to regaining strength, balance, flexibility or function. After performing a detailed assessment of your condition, we create an individualized program to optimize your recovery and achievement of your goals.
Post-Surgical Rehabilitation
Whether your goal after an operation is to return to daily living activities, work, recreation, or competitive sports, we can help by reducing pain, stiffness, and swelling through a variety of techniques.
Kinesiotaping
By lifting the skin microscopically, kinesiotaping allows for greater circulation and drainage, aiding the recovery process. Kinesiotaping also supports and stabilizes muscles and joints so that clients can continue to engage in certain activities and exercises while protecting problem areas. Kinesiotape is latex free and lasts for several days. Between acquiring advanced certification in kinesiotaping and year of clinical experience, I am familiar with many specialized applications.
Cupping
Cups are placed on sites of muscle and joint aches and a rubber pump is used to suction and move the skin and muscle upward. This stimulates blood flow to the affected area and facilitates healing. It is also believed that cupping, as an extension of acupressure, helps to achieve a balance of qi - i.e. "life force" in Chinese.
